POLL: SIX IN TEN FRENCH CITIZENS FEEL UNSAFE ANYWHERE IN FRANCE
A recent survey found that nine out of ten French citizens believe that there is a high likelihood of further terror attacks in their country. Seven out of ten say that France has become more dangerous over the past five years. And six out of ten say they no longer feel safe anywhere in France.

We didn”€™t realize there were so many racist, xenophobic bigots in France.

BOYLE HEIGHTS: THE MOST “€œNOT IN MY BACKYARD”€ NEIGHBORHOOD IN THE NATION?
The Los Angeles neighborhood of Boyle Heights is 94% “€œLatino”€ and appears willing to fight to remain that way. It gained notoriety last year when seven Mexican gang members were indicted on charges of “€œFirebombing African American Residences.”€

Now comes news that a Boyle Heights art gallery specializing in “€œqueer art”€ was defaced with graffiti defaming it as “€œwhite art.”€ The gallery owners claim that they were persistently targeted with attacks that were “€œoften highly personal in nature”€ and as a result are shuttering their doors and moving elsewhere. A taco-flavored activist group calling itself Defend Boyle Heights is touting its mini-Kristallnacht as a victory. It is presumed that a smattering of other “€œwhite art”€ galleries in Boyle Heights will soon follow suit.

If you”€™re looking for a template of ferocious ethnic solidarity in America, look no further than the pesky Mexicans of Boyle Heights.

STUDY: THE MORE EXPENSIVE THE COLLEGE, THE MORE IT CENSORS SPEECH
A recent study from the Brookings Institution found a strong correlation between a university’s high tuition costs and the likelihood of its student body conducting PC witch hunts and silencing dissenting opinions:

The average enrollee at a college where students have attempted to restrict free speech comes from a family with an annual income $32,000 higher than that of the average student in America….The pattern is clear: the more economically exclusive the institution, the more likely the students have attempted to hinder free speech.

No surprises there. Rich white students tend to suffer from “€œtrauma envy”€ and thus have an insatiable need to identify with the “€œoppressed,”€ so long as such identification is done from a “€œsafe space”€ where they don”€™t have to get unnecessarily dirty or suffer any oppression themselves. Poorer students tend to get distracted by trivialities such as wondering how they”€™ll feed themselves for the rest of their lives.

STUDY: PUBLIC DISPLAYS OF MORAL OUTRAGE ARE TIED TO PERSONAL GUILT, NOT SOCIAL INJUSTICE
A study published in the April 2017 edition of Motivation and Emotion confirms what we”€™ve been saying all along”€”the tendency to enter a public arena and thump one’s chest about the latest moral outrage has far less to do with any actual concern about social injustice than it does a psychological need of the chest-thumper to alleviate their own tangled guilt complexes. Researchers Zachary Rothschild and Lucas Keefer found that “€œmoral outrage at third-party transgressions is sometimes a means of reducing guilt over one’s own moral failings and restoring a moral identity.”€ They also found that the deeper one’s sense of personal moral failure is, the more likely they are to publicly persecute some third party for similar ethical transgressions.

Let them have their guilt, but don”€™t let them try to foist it on you. After all, guilt is for the guilty.
